Police in Media, Recruitment and Democracy
This week, the annual meeting of our project "Streaming for Talent" took place in Copenhagen.
Attendees included representatives from the police forces of Germany, Denmark, and Norway. During the event, Jochen Kinast and Sif Sneum presented initial findings from our longitudinal study on media consumption and self-image of police officers in Denmark. Additionally, we examined the public image of the police in the German and Danish populations through the analysis of social media data. The session was moderated by our esteemed colleague Johannes Riis (Copenhagen University).
Among the other speakers were Adam Diderichsen (Royal Danish Defence College) and Simone Mejding Poulsen (Southern University of Denmark).
The discussion focused on the importance of media, occupational images and career development for security and democracy in Europe.
