Currently Europe seems deeply fragmented. Yet, the Eurovision, the flagship of a common European media and culture politics, still seeks to unite Europeans (including Israel and Australia) through music. This afternoon seminar explores the main ideological, political and aesthetic issues in this year’s Eurovision and places the popcultural celebration of Europe in a historic perspective.
