New issue by Mette Mortensen and Christina Neumayer: “The Playful Politics of Memes”

Mette Mortensen and Christina Neumayer have co-edited a special issue on “The Playful Politics of Memes” published in Information, Communication & Society.  Spreading across digital platforms, memes confirm, contest and challenge political power and hierarchies. They disrupt and reimagine politics in humorous ways.

This special issue includes an introduction by the guest editors and eight articles that address the role of memes in different political conflicts.
