Sustainable Film and Television Production: Current Research and Pressing Issues

Seminar with presentations by Pietari Kääpä, Heidi Philipsen, Maike Reinerth and Anna Mrozewicz.

This seminar focuses on recent research on sustainable film and television production in a time where the Nordic Ecological Standard (NES) is being implemented and there is an increasing emphasis on ‘greening’ the screen industries across all stages of production. Professor Pietari Kääpä who leads the Global Green Media Production Network and has authored several books and reports on greening European film policy and screen production in an age of climate crisis offers an introduction to the state of research, followed by presentations on specific strategies in screenwriting, animation film and Nordic-Baltic film and television production.
