Joachim Trier’s films, between realism and modernism?
Guest lecture on Joachim Trier by Professor of Film Studies Anne Gjelsvik from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology based on her new book ReFocus: The Films of Joachim Trier (Edinburgh University Press).
Bio
Anne Gjelsvik is Professor of film studies at the Department of Art and Media Studies at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway.
Gjelsvik’s research focus on the relationship between film and society. She has published several books both in English and Norwegian, as well as many articles in journals and anthologies on different topics within film studies, such as violence, terrorism, memory studies and eco-criticism. Her two latest books are ReFocus: The Films of Joachim Trier (Edinburgh University Press, 2024) and Bearbeidelser (Universitetsforlaget 2020), on the artistic treatments of the terror attacks in Norway in 2011.
The lecture is open to all, but one has to sign up in advance with Associate Professor Birger Langkjær.
