Sustainability and the Ecological in Film and Media Studies
Workshop on sustainable filmmaking organized by Anna Aisling Fee and Johannes Riis at the University of Copenhagen in collaboration with Lund University. For more information, contact Johannes Riis.
During this one-day workshop film scholars and industry professionals will come together to think through the role of the film industry in the ecological crisis. Together, we will explore the potential of film to give a voice to the planet, and discuss issues around EU and state regulation. In the morning session, we will address how the language of cinema can upend traditional power structures and foreground overlooked forms of expertise in its interrogation of environmental themes.
To register for the morning session please contact the organisers Annie Fee and Johannes Riis.
In the afternoon, we will hear from two industry professionals, Ege Heckmann and Anne Ahn Lund who will address the industry’s own initiatives, including sustainability considerations and the use of carbon footprint calculation in different phases of production.
Please note that the afternoon session will be held in Danish. The afternoon is open to everyone, and requires no registration.
