Center for Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence (CPAI)

CPAI is a research collective that aims to build a two-way bridge between AI and philosophy. Why? Because AI needs philosophy, and because AI is a useful tool for philosophy of mind. To the extent, philosophers want to contribute to AI literature, it is important that we establish a common vocabulary for transdisciplinary collaborations. CPAI consists of a mix of philosophers, computer scientists, linguists, physicists, neuroscientists, artists, and more.

At CPAI, we ask:

  • What can AI learn from philosophy?
  • What can philosophy learn from AI?
