What kind of activist are you? Positioning, power and identity in political online activism in Europe
Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceeding › Article in proceedings › Research › peer-review
In this article we examine the different forms of activism using information and communication technologies as a means to represent different political positions. Within the framework of radical democracy we develop a typology of contemporary activism as a form of political participation. The results are based on three qualitative case studies of political activism: [1] middle-class activists in Sweden fighting to save their bathhouse; [2] student protests in Austria; and [3] anti-fascist protests in East Germany.
