Nils Holtug, director of AMIS, quoted in an article in thenation.com

The article ‘If Sweden and Denmark Are So Progressive, Why Did They Close Their Doors to Refugees?’ investigates the immigration crisis in Denmark and Sweden and how it was and is handled in the region.

Nils Holtug explains:

 “It was difficult to find accommodation for refugees, and there were worries about the financial burdens on the state—and, for some people, worries about the cultural impact of such a large influx.”
