New Discussion of Mediatization
New discussion of mediatization theory by professor at MCC, Stig Hjarvard, together with professor Andreas Hepp, University of Bremen, and Knut Lundby, University of Oslo.
The journal Media, Culture and Society has just published their article “Mediatization: theorizing the interplay between media, culture and society” in response to a recent critique of mediatization theory.
The authors address three theoretical concerns:
- The role of media as causal agents
- The understanding of historical change
- The design of concepts.
