THE DIGITAL FOLKETINGSVALG 26: A Look into the Machine Room of Danish Digital Election Campaigning
A panel discussion about parties’ use of social media and AI in the Danish election, based on insights from campaign strategists (Liberal Alliance & Enhedslisten) and the new DDC 2026 Election Report.
12 Parties, over 1000 candidates, and only 3 weeks. How did the Danish political parties shift into snap election mode, and how did that play out in their digital campaigning on social media? On a panel, we will discuss these questions with strategists from Danish parties who were responsible for the campaigns, researchers who studied the parties’ social media presence, and journalists who did deep reporting on the election. As current coalition talks over the new government take place behind closed doors, we will open up the “machine room” of digital election campaigning.
Before the panel discussion, the event will begin with the presentation of the Digital Democracy Centre’s DDC 2026 Election Report and a study on parties’ TikTok use, providing “fresh off the press” insights into parties’ digital campaigning during the Folketingsvalg 2026.
Drinks and snacks will be available at the end of the event.
Please pass this invite on to others who might be interested.
