Control: Issues in Philosophy of Psychology
This workshop aims to bring together researchers and students with an interest in philosophy of mind and action, philosophy of science, and epistemology.
Theme
What is the relationship between agency and control? How do different models of control explain our capacity to perform intentional actions, direct attention or acquire skills and knowledge? Control of action and cognition is one of the most vibrant areas of research in contemporary philosophy of psychology.
The speakers will address the role of control in skilled action, agentive guidance, attention, and self-control.
